I know this is off topic, but she makes this look so effortless.

Warning don't push play unless you're a Van Halen fan.

I don't like her left elbow being bent greater than 45 degrees, it's not the natural arm position. Also I believe if the camera were to pan out we would see her squishing the bug.

Otherwise well played.

softball, smoftball.....I play guitar in a 90's Cover band and starting playing when I 8 or 9.....and that 14 YO is crazy good....now mind you it's "noodeling" style and a little goes a long way....but I'm sure if she was on my 100 watt Marshall Rig using one of my Les Pauls she could make it scream....

It makes me wince (a lot) when I realize that VH recorded that piece of music nearly 35 years ago. However, my 8yo DD heard it for the first time recently and was blown away. It's playing like this that reminds me I made the right choice by switching from guitar to bass.

That's a freaking expensive guitar. That said, when I was 14 all the guitar players I knew played Eruption, but we didn't have youtube ;P

So, as a parent, what would you encourage her to do? Going to HS, would seem like kind of a waste, unless it was Juliard or something.

That is one talented kid. I just watched a bunch of her other YouTube videos.

But...we all know if she wants to take it to the next level, she's got to get away from using all arms and get her lower half involved. Angus Young learned this at an early age. So did EVH.
