Based on the rulebook your information is incorrect. The geometry of the game does not change based on interpretations and clinics.
Unfortunately, it does with ASA. However, this is the first, to my recollection, only coming in umpire clinic materials. ASA routinely publishes rule interpretations and some seem to only be in case books. It's extremely shoddy they don't follow through with an update of the playing rules, especially an org that takes so much pride in being the NGB of softball.

If this was widely known, a pitcher's dad would produce a home plate with a 6" black border around it. :rolleyes:
