This is very interesting, because I'm in a similar boat. I have a 6'1 190 girl on my team that just turned 13. She is very athletic, with a quick bat. She currently swings a cf5 33/23 and has tons of power. I was curious if she would benefit from either going to a drop 8 or 9 or moving up to 34/24

My first thought would be to go 34/24 rather than just adding weight.

My thought has always been to swing the heaviest bat you can without losing swing speed/timing. If you have access to a Zepp and some other bats, try to get an average swing speed with current bat then try out longer and/or heavier to compare. My DD is about 5' 6" 150ish and swings the LXT 33 -10 reasonably well.

It is much easier to find a 34" -8 or -9 than a 33" -8 or -9 for a reason...

Q: How do you judge it's the appropriate time to get a heavier bat?...
A: When you 12 year old daughter is 6', 190...

Minimum 34/24, depending on strength.
But I'd go 34/26. The CF8 34/26, isn't quite as end loaded as a 34/26 Xeno is. It feels lighter.
For the pitching she's gonna see at that age, she will easily be able to swing that 34/26 efficiently enough to keep up to the pitchers.
How strong is she? Bench, shoulder & leg press, push-ups?...
Age has nothing to do with it...if she's strong enough and fast enough to keep up with the pitchers, let her swing the axe...

If she's strong enough, 34/26...and watch 'em fly...

Based upon your DD's height and weight, she could benefit from moving up an inch in length to a 34 inch bat. As far as the length to weight ratio goes, a -10 is an excellent option. It ultimately comes down to personal preference and what your DD is most comfortable swinging. Practice makes perfect. Take her to the batting cages with a -9 and a -10 and see which one she prefers.

Can you explain in detail the benefit of an extra inch in length?

Why exactly is -10 an excellent option?

Thanks for all the information guys. She is very strong. Farm girl, that throws hay bales for fun. It's quite humerous when she is standing on 3rd base and looking down at me

Your 12 year old is 6 feet tall and 190 lbs? Even for that size that is a pretty big bat if she is facing quality pitching.

Yep. I'm 6'4. Mom is 5'9. Doc says she probably has a couple more inches left before she's done growing.

At JustBats, we like to make our recommendations based on a player's height and weight. Check out the graph on our bat resource guide. As far as why -10 is an excellent option, we would have to say that because it is an extremely popular length to weight ratio. We sell more -10 than we do -9 and -8. But, as stated in our original comment, it ultimately comes down to personal preference and what each player is comfortable swinging. It's easier for us to recommend a length than it is a length to weight ratio as that is going to vary from player to player.
