But, how many points did they score?

LOL, two games into DD 10u rec season half the team still were mentioning how many points did we have. Did I say we have a lot of new to the game players? 12 games in now and almost all are saying runs.

Me: o good...where was her hit?
DW: to ss
Me: what do u mean ss?
DW: she hit it to ss
Me: was she safe or out?
DW: it was a line drive that the ss caught
Me: that's not a hit
DW: but she hit it nice

I have had that exact conversation !! scary but funny !!

^ The parents still are yelling "good hit," when she has dribbled one out to 2nd base and was thrown out by 15 feet. Or their daughter stands at the plate and looks at 3 straight strikes. The mom yells "That's alright."

PAH: Hello - Anything???
Person at game - Oh sorry didn't feel the buzz. She's pitching. doing good
PAH - well?
PAG - CRAP
PAH - Crap what?
PAG - hold on, dang she walked her
PAG - oh man 2-2 on this batter
PAG - OMG easy ground ball fricken error on 2B AGAIN
PAH - what's the score
PAH - HELLO??
PAH - Seriously? nothing????

It goes on something like that pretty much all weekend with a few "tell her I love her" and "to just do her best" sprinkled in between games

I have to admit the time it happened the other way.

DW: How is the game going.
me: Down 5-1
DW: how is DD doing
me: Single in first. Just got hit in back of neck with pitch.
DW: Is she OK
DW: ever 2 minutes for 30 minute: Is she OK
me: She is fine. Sorry didn't hear the message come in.
