DIY throwdown plate

I was looking to upgrade my white throw down plate to something a little larger to work more on spots and have a larger area for beginners to be happy with it.
The Schutt extended plates were $30+. As I'm not into spending money if I don't have to, I came up with this;

$2.97 Plastic welcome mat at wal-mart, and some craft paint I had laying around. This could actually be a fun project for your pitcher.

great idea! thank you for sharing this as DD is in need of replacement mat right now! I do not like to catch with a raised plate, my reflexes are too old
