Your eyes are deceiving you and none of those pitchers are talking about it. It may be something someone does as a cheat for control, especially on the curve, but it is not necessary at the hip, ask BHH. First you need to know what pitches you are talking about and why you need to do it. Have not heard anything but dads want control quick and some old guys (and old lady) say so. And many pitchers no longer pitch closed like Ueno and Cat do (those are two old school curve ballers).

OILF- this thread has pretty significant video evidence of the best pitchers in the world using brush interference. Some of the most respected PCs in the world advocate it as well. What is your REASONING for being against it?

Saying that Cat and Ueno are old school is not a reason for discounting what they do. If they are old school then the old school really needs to replace the new school because they are the best CURRENT players out there. if you do not believe this then please tell me which NEW SCHOOL pitcher can hold a candle to them.

Cat won NPF, Ueno won the world championship. 'nuff said. but please define the NEW SCHOOL by offering a pitcher that throws with whatever mechanics this term refers to.

As for talking about it, cat wears a sleeve on her pitching arm and has said that it is because sometimes she hits her arm against her side a little too hard.

OILF has made up her mind on this. She has no interest in changing her mind about it. We all just as well have shown all the visual evidence to the neighbor's dog.

I hold out hope that by keeping the dialog open then maybe when a girl shows up on her team that uses some contact that she wont be penalized in the future.

And I actually have seen some evidence here and there of OILF actually changing a stance that seemed written in stone so I do not think she is as stubborn as she appears. We got her right on the edge, one little push and she will see the light on this....I know it.
