Let's not analyze professional or elite pitchers, as that gets into video analysis, which makes me motion sick, and also many of those pitchers were taught years ago.
But does anyone's daughter or team pitcher hit their hip with the pitching forearm? I am not talking about the glove slap.
I tried it a few minutes ago and it was really uncomfortable not to mention how the pitches look. And no way could I throw a screwball from there at all. I would never do it for a real motion and I changed my motion several times during my career.
Is this hip-hitting thing old school?
