So how do you see these stats going in the coming days when the real season (conference play) starts? Auburn has some very good hitters but then again who have they played?

I agree, they are definitely feasting on lesser pitching, but those hitters that FFS displayed make for on heck of a stretch a pitcher has to get through.

You saw ULL's run production take a huge hit (pardon the pun) when they faced good Bama pitching.

You saw ULL's run production take a huge hit (pardon the pun) when they faced good Bama pitching.

The top 6 hitters have combined for an average OB% of 0.539. Loosely translated … 54% of the time they get up to bat they end up on base without creating an out.

The batters, as a collective group, are perfectly willing to take a walk ... and their HR and slugging percentage suggests that when they do swing that they are doing so with a mentality of getting a "good pitch to hit".

That said ... the schedule doesn't look to be appropriate for a team preparing for a run at the national title. It remains to be seen if the coach can fill the gaps in training that would have taken place had the team faced stronger competition.
