2016 Mako sounds dead

My daughter got a 2016 Mako to replace her Miken FB. After using it for a while she says it just doesn't feel right. It has a real dud sounding noise towards the end and lots of vibration when checking it with a ball. Is this normal for this bat? I checked it against her Miken and I do feel a difference.

Hi James, my daughter has a 2015 Mako and we've had the same experience. Compared to the other top line bats out there I find this bat dead, no pop. I heard a lot of people say that this bat has a lot of pop, but I'm not seeing it, huge disappointment for me.

We have a 2016 mako Torq. It's does sound like it's dead even though it prob only has 500 swings on it. But when I self toss in the yard, it hits the farthest out of the group. It's also the heaviest so maybe it's just the weight and me swinging it. It's a 31-10. I also have cf5 31-10, cf9 31-11, MFB 31-10, and cf8 30-11.


Looking at the bat weight database, there is about an ounce weight difference.

The sound of the Mako changes over time as it breaks in more... We've had 5 and once broken in was similar in distance to the other bats out there. After cracking the last one DD decided to go with the CF8.

DD has a 2015 Torq. It's always had thud like sound and feel. She used it for a season and switched to a 2 Legit. She hits the Worth so much better.
