Warm Ups/Drills Great, Not So On Mound

Looking for feedback. My daughter is in 12U and pitches. She sees a little action here and there, still working on getting confidence up. She's been taking pitching lessons consistently for a year now and has made progress.

My question is - her warm ups and drills are always really good. But when it comes time to get on the mound no matter the situation, she's not consistent. Does this sound like a total mental issue? Or are we not working enough on the mound? Looking for feedback from anyone who has had this issue before.

I think everyone has been though this, she is not alone.

Practice with a batter, not swinging, as much as you can.

Do not get frustrated too much.

Funny you should say that. My DD is awful in warm ups and drills but in games turns it up hard. When other teams watch her warm up they raise an eyebrow but when she gets in the circle she means business.
I agree with Quincy, nothing to worry about just yet. One thing we did with DD was to let her play REC and Travel until she was late 12 years old. The REC games really helped build her confidence as it was K after K. Time in the circle is important. Another thing we did was during warm ups we simulated the first 3 batters. This allowed her to get the jitters out. Good Luck!

That's a good idea about rec ball. I might check into it when it's time and see if it fits our schedule.

DD start pitching in 8U rec with coach backup, she was the best defender was why she was is the circle.

Gave her a high five if she threw a strike in an inning at the start so I learned early not to live on every pitch, batter, inning or game.

She will notice if you are nervous, wound up or frustrated. Sorry for parent advice. :)

Another thing is if the ball is staying inside the park have her throw meatballs and trust the defense. Once she gets her legs undernight her, she can start playing with zone.
