not ready to see the wizards just yet but definitely taking the first of many steps in beginning pitching. I will now attampt to put in some video. (drum roll)

Please note that HTLM5 and Firefox do not talk to each other so I am on IE Explrer, which I detest.
So far we have worked on the 3 step drill, some back chaining, and isolated wrist and arm movements. I'm currently using Java's take on things but I am also looking at Hillhouse's methods.
I'll post this and hope everything shows up.

Cool video. She is definitely in a league of her own. Her arm circle and release actually look very natural and show the correct characteristics of internal rotation (just search the term or check the sticky thread on this site).

Besides that what do you see when it comes to the push off and work of the lower body compared to video clips on this site? (see model pitchers). Before getting much advice you should do the work of comparing the clip you posted with the motion of more advanced pitchers on this site and see for yourself what to work on. Hers should look closer to theirs.

Very nice start! Think bigger, longer and smoother with the arm circle. Let the lower and arm and ball hang out there throughout the circle.

Love the "what was that" in the video. They'll be more of those than you can count. Your smarter than most by starting here. Wish I had, could've saved alot of time. Good luck on your journey. Enjoy it.

How old is she?

I found that at a very young age that the emphasis on the throwing hand to the opposite shoulder had the side effect of shortening the arm circle and the men's style ball in glove exaggerated the shoulder turn in.

Off to a good start getting comfortable throwing the ball underhand.

Thank you all very much. First, DD is 9 and we have had multiple conversations about pitching and dad as dad and dad as coach and dad as her PC and what it takes to become a real pitcher and that, if she ever feels like it just isn't working, all she has to do is tell me. I have been fortunate to have attended Rick's clinic last year and to have participated in 3 of Java's lessons he gave to my HS pitcher. You can watch all the videos there are but nothing dials you in like live coaching and pitching with people who know what they're doing.
DD has been throwing underhand for awhile, part of warmups. For October, we will be adding Java's 2 step drill. Doug Romrell had sent me a similar drill, which seems to have departed for the internet ethers, but I believe it was similar. We have a large enough basement for throwing wiffle balls and enlarging the arm circle and I have use of the school gym.
I noticed the move to the shoulder and the ball in glove motions (both from BH) were twisting her a little but I am trying to get her hand to turn over properly on release. She seems to have a natural tendency to blow through the frenchman's kiss and turn out, palm facing right. She also wants to rush the initial weight shifts, so we're trying to slow that down a little. I'm also thinking of changing her backswing to bring both arms back and then forward.
Finally, eyes are on us as parents have heard "he pitches a different way." I am working with the minor and major coaches, 10U and 12U, on program building and I want to be comfortable enough to start working with their pitchers. My hope is to get these girls ready for the next step of seeing the closest wizard, which would be Java.
