For the record........And because I get so many requests in my in box......I just wrote this PM to someone and I thought I'd share it here to clear up where I am in life today. He asked if I do any PC training.

John, I'm out in Northern California. I retired from formally doing lessons about 6 years ago. I was saturated in everything softball for more then 40 years and I'm just burned out. My road included playing, umpiring, teaching and coaching the game for all those years. I've taught many many adults, including PC's and parents about the proper way to throw a softball underhand so they could pass the craft along to future pitchers.

With that said, I don't offer anything in the way of formal training sessions anymore for anyone. If you were ever in the area where I live and wanted to spend an hour or two discussing and learning about throwing a ball underhand, I'd be happy to meet with you. But I'm not really into setting up a formal training session or series of sessions.

If you're ever in Northern California, and namely Sonoma County, let me know and we'll get together for a few hours.

Best regards,

John

And another PM regarding actual pitching lessons I wrote to another request......

Mike, I retired from giving lessons about 6 years ago. I've moved on to my newest passion.....GOLF!

I'm in Sonoma county very close to Rich Balswick as a matter of fact, in Petaluma. If you ever around my little town I'd be happy to get together with you and DD for an informal meeting, and see her throw and maybe offer suggestions if I see anything that I think could be improved. Just let me know.

Best regards,

John

I continue to read here frequently and have found that we have imparted so much knowledge here that most of the frequent posters here give very sound advise regarding pitching. And of course Java has plagiarized or otherwise rewritten most everything I've ever posted since 09:p, and has a one of the most solid understandings of fastpitch I've ever had the pleasure to write with on this message board.

He still has the fire and it seems the time to write and respond AND GIVE LESSONS, maybe because he still has a DD in the game. You guys will rue the day when she's done and he buys a new set of Taylormade irons and a shinny new driver.....

I'm still here......lurking in the darkness......so stay on you best behavior people.....

Always lurk and please comment as much as possible!

You are so right about Java... I've met him and my dd had the privilege to work with him for a couple days. Give that guy a girl who wants it and she will go far!

If it makes you feel better, pronation & supination are terms used in the golf swing as well.

There is so much great info stored within the DFP pages. I find myself googling stuff like "BoardMember drop ball" or "Discussfastpitch sneaky tricks from my book" and can't believe the treasures I find. Almost every time, I reread something you posted and find something I didn't get before. Your stickies are epic and I wish there was a way to catalog and link the hundreds of other great posts. Thank you for every gem.

Say it isn't so BoardMember. Just know that we will always appreciate your input whenever you have the time! I only wish I lived close enough to that area to take you up on your offer of getting your opinions live!!
