IMO... her arm circle is pushing her body out of the way... let's see if we can get that arm circle on a straighter path. The line represents the path her arm takes around the circle... the circles on the line represent each frame... the black and white circle is the last frame. If you want to see this yourself... download the free program Kinovea... it's quite helpful.

Read and try this drill... and see if it helps.

Conan- you seem really familiar, is there a chance you have posted here before under a different name? You remind me of a poster named at various points "cool hand" "left hook" etc. If you are not this person then my apologies, but if you are then please respect the board and make sure this does not get ugly like it did the last few times, I can already see the seeds of discord starting.

Very observant JJs.

Also the recently banned poster "Slide Piece".

She also starts her circle very wide... and brings it across her body... making a path that points to the left of those bleachers. Have her try to maintain a pitching plane that is more in-line to her target and I think you'll see some indirect postural benefits.

Yeah, the ball gets away from her body about a foot in distance... you can see it as her arm travels forward... just as it reaches her body-line (by her side).

Got ya. We have been working on the pull back. I didn't notice it being off wide..she used to reach waaaay back and behind her back. Now we have another issue . I definitely do see it! I know that girls I have worked with in the past and having corrected the arm circle, the correction of the posture is a very welcome bi-product of this.

WOW...I slowed it down and she is doing it just enough to screw her arm circle up!

A small bit on the pull back and the ball goes over her head...knuckles are not facing the catcher on the upswing either, the ball is turned on an angle!

Your OP suggests working on the lean... and I see what you mean. Take it slow... but she once had a pretty aggressive sprinters position... and a great stretch of the stride leg. Might want to get her back to that position, while minimizing the backswing. What was her 3b lean like in the older video?

in the older video it was worse. the lean that is.

what do you mean used to have a aggressive sprinter start? which video or pic are you referring? I d like to take a look at that!
Are you saying get her back to the position where her hand is way back but minimize back swing? That is exactly what I am trying to do if so. She is more up and not leaning in in the video on the left. Is that what you refer to? I try to tell her to lean in to sprinter position without disconnecting with a huge bow at the waist!

Thanks!
