I am looking to get observations on the degree and direction of the Tip and how it relates to the degree/angle of the swing plane.

It seems to me that how a batter tips in regards to direction/degree/magnitude of the tipping affects the angle/degree of the swing plane.

So, for example, I believe that the degree and angle of Manny tipping may create a slightly more upward swing plane than most.

Does this make sense ? Does the magnitude & direction of the Tip affect the swing plane ?

I would think batters that do not tip or only slightly tip or tip then float/flatten before launch have somewhat flatter swing plane.

Thoughts ???

Thx,

I have aclip of Manny in batting practice practicing different angles of attack.

Tip and Rip vs Flatten.

I do not think it affects the Swing Plane, as much as it effects the Angle of the Bat, through the swing plane.

see the bold?

but I would like to hear some more on this, its a very good area to concentrate on, what gives the hitter the best chance to put the bat on the ball.

You slow that gif down and. I don't see any movement of the bat going rearward. I can even stop it and the bat head stays behind his head as his hands go forward. I still struggle with the concept of the bat head going rearward with a purposeful turning of the rear arm. To get the bat on the ball your arm will eventually have to turn.

The back of hamiltons top hand is still facing back as he pulls forward. I don't see a first move of a swivel as HI teaches or you see in the uptick drill.

You turn/point the knob to the ball your arms are going to turn. Maybe we're talking the same thing.

I'm not trying to be an rear or a pain. I just don't want to misunderstand since this is all done in writing.

Yes. Look at Hamilton. He gets the hands and knob gout to the ball which of course gets the Barrell going down. We might be talking semantics. I just worry about teaching my daughter so she doesn't dump the barrel and hands.

Now I would also like to understand what I see as turning/releasing the barrel into the ball which in my daughter happens to late.
