I saw 2 bama girls actively turning the barrel as part of their on deck warm up swing. One would do 2 ticks, torqueing her barrel back with just her hands quick about 16 inches and on the third tick she swung. Tick-tick-swing

I've done a tick-back-tick-back-swing drill with girls, including with just the back-hand using a small one-hand trainer bat. Important not to just tick back (or bop catcher on head as some say) but introduce the idea of "the waiter carrying a tray" and top-hand swivel, which will get them to turn the barrel. Compare that with a launch that focuses on turning the triangle and holding the wrist hinge angle. It's a much different feel. Some will say better, some will say worse. Cool. Try it out, feel the difference, pick your poison...

Mts, what s the difference between using the" triangle", and using the 'box' cues?

mts ' quote""" everything.

Not true, But not sure what's in your mind, when one says "hitters box", but your words describe Exactly, word for word, the definition, Of Sparky Parkers, hitters box approach.
These words MTS......"When you turn the triangle correctly the rear elbow will drop and the front elbow elevates".

You're hitter, in the giff, turns the triangle, and extends (with swivel or pivot point) through it. A pass through position.

You're hitter, in the giff, turns the box, and extends (with swivel or pivot point) through it. a pass through position.

you see, not so different.

Mann - turning the box as has been defined on these boards since the beginning as shoulder rotation driven or arm driven....turning the triangle is not....

Obviously much better - and I know I said otherwise recently - but have her start with the outside foot down and learn how to get to that position on the toe by using the lower back/torso/spine to start the turn back....

And she needs to learn how to turn the barrel away from the 2nd basemen to launch the bat....still a little too long in the front arm because the barrel is not yet fused to the rear arm on the launch....meaning the rear upper arm is still externally rotating to start the swing...when the rear elbow moves down the barrel moves rearward and the front elbow elevates all at the same time

Keep at it!

Not here.

This was made last week before, I read that we should start with both feet pointing at the pitcher. This was our first attempt at the SNF. Does anything else jump out at you as wrong or needing improvement? I know alot to improve on. This is what we are starting with.
