My understanding of batting is still light years behind my understanding of pitching…that doesn't mean that I am not willing to learn. So please be patient with me if I am not getting it. One of the issue that has been brought to my attention is dd dropping of her hands. While compare to last year when dd hands were level with the barrel, we have made some progress. She understands that her hands need to stay above the barrel and has done a great job all year laying off the high pitches. But, I feel she has room for improvement between now and HS ball.

Many coaches will use cues like "dropping the hands" or "dropping the shoulder" when they think they know what they're talking about, but don't.
I thought she looked too upright/not enough tilt at the waist and her hips arrived early.
her hands seemed to me, to address the path of the oncoming ball correctly, but her body just wasn't into it.

This season, dd hit her first grand slam, she had several doubles and triples with the ball hitting the fence. Last tournament, she went over .700 with some solid hits, bunts and slap bunt. I feel she just need to get a little more power in off season before HS ball start.
