DD has been swinging a 2014 LXT 30/20...she needs to size up. She loves her LXT - so...reviews on the 2015 v 2016?
Obviously we can get a better deal on the 2015, but if the 2016 is that much better I'd rather go that route.

I am not sure you can say any modern bat is "better" than another, only that some girls like a particular bat better than another.

The girls on my team can use any bat they want. As you can imagine, they try them all before making a decision. Our reps allow the girls to demo them in games, at practice, take them home, take them to their hitting lessons, etc., so they get tons of swings on them before they say, "This is the one!"

We have had a lot of Louisville Slugger bats running through our team the last couple of years as their models are by far the most popular with the girls. Our girls hit a lot and they know what they like so they aren't necessarily putting down their current bat when a new model comes out. They test it, test it some more, use it in games ..... you get the picture.

We've had quite a few LXTs around, perhaps more than any other bat. We had a bunch of 2014s, even more 2015s and now we have a few 2016s.

The feedback I get (and what I feel, as well) is that the 2014 was hot out of the wrapper but continued to improve. It was light (around 0.3 - 0.5 oz under sticker weight) and swung very light.

The 2015 was extremely hot out of the wrapper and improves a bit with use. The weight is almost dead-on sticker but that light-swinging feel is still there. Essentially, this means you got a bat that was almost a half an ounce heavier that still swung as light as the 2014.

The 2016 is ridiculously hot out of the wrapper. We are not sure yet about any changes as we probably have no more than maybe 1,000 hits on any of them and we just can't compare them to bats that have been getting pounded on for a year or more. We have four 2016s (two 32/22 and two 33/23) and three of them (both 33/23 and one 32/22) are exactly dead-on sticker weight. One of the 32/22 bats weighs 22.1 oz. However, there is a bit of a balance difference with the 2016. It now feels like a "real" -10 bat. It isn't as super-light feeling as the previous models and has a more substantial heft to it, even though it weighs the same as the 2015. The best way I can describe it is, you could pick up a 2015 Xeno and a 2015 LXT with your eyes closed and pretty much everyone could tell you which was which. You can't do that as easily with the 2016s.

I can't say any of them are better than the other. We've had 11-year-old girls go yard with the 2014 and 12 year old girls go yard with the 2015 and 13 year-old girls go yard with the 2016.

One thing I will say, although it really has nothing to do with your DD's situation, is that our 10U teams are absolutely bonkers over the 2016 LXT -11 model. They are snapping them up like free cheese in a bread line.

Any update on the 2016s? My DD loves the 2014 and from my observations the 2015 doesn't really compare over time.

My DD swings the 2015 LXT, all last season, loved it. Going to the Demar CF8 for next season as she continually grows and grows so new bats keep coming. I give her credit though, she gets her cuts in with them before they go on the selling block. I believe the CF8 of all the new 2016 bats is the hottest bat on the market however minimally this may be, and this is simply my feel and observation. No science here. Love the feel sound and pop. We will see, but the 2016 LXT is an absolute firecracker too, but the 2015 was too ! Its easier to pick the bats that aren't good to be honest because anymore if you go LS, Demar and Easton its 99.999% hitter feel.
