DD has a broken sesamoid bone in her left foot. She has been in a boot and playing through the pain for a long time. The CT scan showed the bone is dead and in pieces. Her surgery to remove the bone is Thursday morning. We hope the surgery will stop the pain she feels. We also hope she will be able to return to playing softball in a few months. This has definitely derailed the recruiting process for her. Mostly, we want DD to be pain free. Playing softball for her senior year (in the fall here in GA) or showcases in summer 2016 would be a bonus.
