First of all, I enjoy seeing vids of your DD. She has such nice form. As someone mentioned before me, I think she would benefit by getting more weight over the front side for a drop, get her to try and get her torso more over her front leg for the drop.
my dd has been using a drop 9 xeno for over a year. she tried the freak black and said it felt entirely too light. she pulled a ton of balls way foul using this bat. both bats are 32"
Recently my DD attended a pitching clinic hosted by a local small college. Participation was limited to players 13 and over (so, experienced participants) This was a 2 and a half hour clinic.
first 30 min - stretching and jogging
next 30 min - wrist flips
next 30 min - various drills for...
what about that extension of the arm after release(29second mark of video)? looks like a very forceful straightening of the arm that very well could cause hyperextension of the elbow and cause pain where you say it is.
looks really nice to me. good form 9 oclock position is nice, good brush nice posture. I have one word of advice. I hate those pants. get real softball pants. :D
It is a different game. A baseball coach generally does not realize how fast that fastpitch is. You do not have time from 3rd and short to take an extra hop before you throw. Also what I have seen is that the baseball coach will want the pitcher to cover 1st on a bunt.
does she throw a curve ball? i recently attended a college camp and anyone younger than 13 was not allowed to participate in the curve ball session due to the instructors' belief that the curve ball put too much stress on the elbow.
i was kind of surprised because i didn't think that this was...
the twist down the backside is the twist of the shoulders and hips to allow you to throw across your waist, pocket to pocket. if there is no twist then it is very difficult to get the correct spin on the ball, which is 9-3 from the pitchers perspective.
i think that alot of people in this...
BM's corkscrew curve requires a twist of the shoulders and hips. You must throw across your body (from pocket to pocket) to make the ball go right to left. You also must cut under the ball to get good 9-3 spin(pitchers perspective).
The corkscrew curve, when thrown correctly is very nice pitch...
I can't believe it, but I have to agree with OILF on this one. Brush is not an absolute imo. Is it helpful to some pitchers? (many of them being high lvl) yes, absoulutely. Is it a requirement for being a high level pitcher? Probably not.
Every pitcher has their own style, what works for some...
the experts here might say that she lacks brush interference. her hip doesnt close and thus is not in a position to cause any brush interference.
she looks like a shorter girl, so i wouldnt worry about the hook in the arm throughout the circle. her posture is decent, there is minimal bending at...
ok, but what if there are bleachers behind the backstop, or for instance, the pitcher is taking signs from a spectator sitting either in bleachers or along the 1st or 3rd base lines?
is there a specific rule against it? or is it up to the umpire to determine if it is a distraction?
