my daughter is an 06, she has played softball since she was 7, travel ball since 8. We work hard and she plays hard and she brings home the rings. She also plays basketball, its the sport i get to be a dad in the stands and she get to be just one of the girls that put the ball down after...

    Cutting Players.

Player 9 is going thru family problems with her parents right now, I am afraid she's eating to many cheetos and not putting in the work. Another reason cutting this kid, hurt she's 11. With a little time and patience who knows what she could be.

    Cutting Players.

This is what drives me nuts, we played her every pool game. We sat stronger players to ensure she played. We told her father she was the number 11 player on the team, he just wouldn't believe it. We explained to her, that she was the slowest on the team. He wouldn't believe it so we actually...

    Cutting Players.

I am an assistant coach for a second year 10u travel ball team. I have always believed when you take a kid in they are family, I have been coach for 3 years now and despite what people say it takes a lot out of you. We put a new team together this fall, our first 5 tournaments the team did...

    Advice

My daughter is a strong player, she is always a top four player on a TB roster in the local area but never a top one if that make sense. She could make the 1st team but I question if a spot even opens myself. Why mess with team chemistry that works. I don't really know any details of anything...

    Advice

Team one has ha d a solid year without a single player leaving. Only reason I could argue team 2 is my daughter's skillset would be a huge need for them. I just don't know anything about team 3, other than they left team two and tried to take the team with them and wound up taking the pitcher...

    Advice

I need some perspective from some that might have been in this situation before. My daughter has played for the same coach for 2 years now. I consider him a good man, but to be honest he let me down a bit. His daughter was a year younger than the rest of the team. He had stated prior to our...

At what age is too early to attend a College Showcase Camp?

My daughter gave up, no one has contacted her. She is in the fourth grade and getting long in the tooth. Her dreams of college softball are over :( Sorry had to be a smart rear, the truth is I have had some parents tell me they have had contact from universities as early as the sixth grade but...

People always post negative experiences with coaches, let me post a positive.

I simply posted that to help define the coach, and the type of atmosphere he brings to our teams compared to others. I could go in to details talking why several teams I would call trophy hunters are in messages if you would like but I truly did not post anything about that to trash other...

will keep that in mind, she likes to put her hands together and step on the mound. she just has to learn and wait to put them together on the mound. Its mostly my fault for not forcing the issue with her prior to the game.

People always post negative experiences with coaches, let me post a positive.

This weekend at a tournament in Brandon Mississippi my daughter’s coaches showed me how coaching should be done. Let me set the stage so it will all make sense. We are a 10u Team from Monroe La, we started last year in 8u and struggled quite a bit. Lost a few kids to trophy hunters and teams...

    First taste of southern softball

only real thing I know that sticks out about southern softball, is the heat. It's freaking hot down here!

    First taste of southern softball

Its opportunity for those who are not Christians to show tolerance toward them and their beliefs. I am Christian but have not been my whole life and understand somewhat how you feel, but its a part of shrinking and marginalized culture that by you biting your tongue and showing respect people...

8u TB (Coach Pitch) Hitting Slump!!! HELP

In MS, LA, TX 8u is very popular age to get the girls in Travel ball that show a natural love for softball if not we will lose them to other sports as they are pressured by moms and dads to to play more traditional feminine activities such as soccer, gymnastics, cheerleadering, dance and even...

feels like assistant coach is over stepping boundaries.

speaking of that, I lost two pounds of my gut last night with a line drive from my 3rd baseman. Thank goodness she didn't shave my hair.

    8u Travel ball defensive Stratgey

Our catcher makes a tremendous amount of plays for us, foul balls and getting outs at home, and yes the rec leagues aren't quite here that strong but that's ok it still is a lot of fun for the more casual girls and that's wonderful.

    8u Travel ball defensive Stratgey

bingo. Seems like one girl is trying to do to much when there is a SS and 2nd baseman to make those plays.

    8u Travel ball defensive Stratgey

in Dixie it works i know for sure I used it last year, but in travel ball it doesn't seem to translate since the older girls just crush the ball down the left field line or to LCF or line drive crush it through the ss it seems.
