Where is the best place to take a look at the Vinci models? I am in Northern VA (DC area). I can check the store locator but want to make sure they have them in stock.
Thanks!
Bob
Chaz, would love to learn more about JCV-22, 33 inch. DD is 14YO HS 9th grader and is currently using a Louisville Valkyrie 33 in. Last year she had consistent problems with hand bruising. Looking for a glove that will provide more protection than just adding a glove under her mitt. Lots of...
Any feedback on Boombah coach's turf shoes? Need a new pair for spring and have never tried them on before. Have a wide foot and was wondering if they ran at least "normal width" not a narrow feel.
Tougher finding shoes these days, no one carries much in the brick and mortar stores any more...
Hitting world has it in stock - A Coaches Guide to Training Catchers DVD by Dave Weaver
Got mine at the end of 2013.
As others have mentioned, this is the best DVD for coaching catchers.
DD had the G4s and they had crazy sizing. It was even different than other Mizuno FP cleats. Was 1 1/2 sizes off. Ringor has a decent sizing chart and I think they have a sizing tool for team sales.
Thanks. Will have to try on the G3s. Since many cleats are mostly online these days, want to find a model that fits and is comfortable so we are not doing the back and forth every season :-)
Anyone know if Ringor is discontinuing the Diamond Gem Cleat? Their site has the 2012 listed at a discount but no mention of the 2013. DD is a catcher and likes the mesh style cleats - it keeps her feet cooler. She currently wears mesh Mizunos but they discontinued them as well. Ugh.
DD uses the Ultimate Sports Bag - XL version for catchers. In season 2 and it has held up well. The carry strap is the most comfortable I've come across. Lots of pockets! Really like the inside sleeve for shin guard storage.
How old is your catcher? 12
What brand and Model (Name and/or Number) mitt does your catcher currently use? Louisville Slugger 33-Inch TPS Fastpitch Valkyrie
On a scale of 1-10 (1= bad, 10= ecstatic) How well do they like the mitt? 8
What one thing would they change about the mitt if they...
11 is perfect IF everyone stays healthy. We've had 13 and IMHO it is too much. Even 12 is a bit much. The #11-12 players, who typically need development and experience, don't get the consistent game time they need.
When DD started catching at 9, she used the Mizuno Prospect GXS101. It is a 32 1/2 inch glove which isn't too big and was very easy to break in. The 32 1/2 works well with the 11" balls used in 10U. DD still used it when she went to 12U and it handled the 12' balls fine, but we are now...
Amy's is a great summary. I find too many girls with gloves that are too big for them. If the girls are going to become serious ball players, they will also start to realize different gloves have different "feels" to them. e.g. my DD like Mizunos. Has tried others but likes the feel, fit and...
Thanks! It is good to hear that the Bownet screen works well. We use it for hitting and love the portability and weight. I am pleasantly surprised at the number of positive responses so we may have to give it a try :-)
