Guys and Gals I was hoping you all could help me out on what you think about a new product we just brought to market last week to help with maintaining a great pocket for the glove and assist in glove break in. Any and all feedback would be greatly appreciated.. here is the link to our...

High School DD, Need a little advice

Is it because she's releasing her top half before firing the lower half? Are you seeing the same thing in the backyard swing? How would you correct this? Any drills to improve this or continue with more front toss to create muscle memory?

High School DD, Need a little advice

Looking for some help on what I can do to keep DD from releasing her top side to quick. Back yard swing you can she she lets the ball get a little deeper and powers through, but game swings no power and way out front. We continue to work on letting the ball get deeper at home but in games it's...

    DD called her first game!

Funny- I was talking to DD the other night about talking with her coach about letting he call some games, she tells me dad coach only calls the pitches till other team goes through their line up one time after that its on me and the pitcher... I guess I been sleeping to much in the out field.. LOL

    Losing sight of the ball

Going back and looking at DD's pic with runners on I notice that there isn't much difference (DD's butt down a little lower to stick the low pitch) in how the two set up to recieve the pitch the only difference is runner didn't take off on DD. I guess she is utilizing a runners on stance.. :o

    Losing sight of the ball

I agree with you greenmonsters the video of Lucroy looks to be an effective stance. Also agree that there is a possible miss conception of what NECC definition of a runners on stance should look like and what the major of todays youth runners on stance looks like. The ideal thinking of coaches...

    Losing sight of the ball

Eric, I never said the hips don't move up when having to block but I also never heard Megan say get in a runners on stance when preparing to block the ball with runners on in the video clip you just posted. DD actually went to a clinic she and Cat but on in Houston last fall and she wasn't...

    Losing sight of the ball

Eric, I can't answer your question but show me a video of a D1 catcher in a runners on stance... The majority of all D1 coaches and players cant be wrong or can they? The only FP catchers I've seen utilizing the runners on stance method is young catchers 14U and below. I guess they're all...

    Losing sight of the ball

I know the majority of you guys on here believe that the NECC teaching methods are the bible and you will discount any other thought that goes againist it but remember this Jay Weaver isn't the one recruiting your DD. One would think that if his method is so good how come no D1 catchers, NPF...

    Losing sight of the ball

According to all the D1 coaches and former D1 catchers I have spoken to and D1 camps my DD has attended there is no such thing as a runners on stance. What her and I was told is you stay in your normal receiving stance and if the ball is received above the catchers waist then they should see a...

Does an ounce and an inch make that much of a difference???

My suggestion is you buy the 34/25 xeno in last years model for half the price and use it at home and lessons until she's comfortable with it. Then purchase a new one when the 2016's come out.

    Is a catcher that important?

"IS A CATCHER THAT IMPORTANT" Went and watched one of the pitchers DD use to catch for last season this past Sunday, and watched their catcher let 5 runs score on pass balls and thats not counting the free bases given on bobbled & pass balls. This was at a 16U exposure tournament. So now as...

    Catchers Mitt

Cheaper isn't a selling point because she already has both of the Nokona's which will last her for years other than maybe repading and relacing which Nokona does for around 100 bucks. So how does it protect the hand better? Is Vinci using better quality padding that holds up longer compared...

    Catchers Mitt

DD has a Nokona buffalo combo and the Nokona buckaroo catchers mit, I've been looking at the Vinci for her but havent been able to get my hands on one for DD to tryout or compare to what she's already using. I guess my question is what are the selling points on me buying her a Vinci vs staying...
