    Yeah, that was ridiculously close. Almost needed frame by frame. At least it wasn't a blown call on a foul ball "HR" like FSU/Utah.

    IMO, if she's already pressuring herself then maybe she just needs help finding (and believing) the positives? I know my DD doesn't believe a word I say when I praise her, but if I help her find a positive on her own it seems to sink in better. Dunno. It's not easy. for sure.

    You're borrowing trouble. Wait for the situation to arise before trying to deal with it. If she put herself in the mix, trust her to handle it.

    Not false equivalence, slippery slope. And sure, not compelling for maintaining the status quo, but there's also no compelling argument to re-chalk at arbitrary points during the game.

    What you don't see is the grounds crew relining any part of the field. It takes considerably longer to line the boxes than it does for 6 or 7 guys to make a single pass with field drags.

    Nope. She stepped in front of the plate. Not in the exact middle in front of the plate, definitely to the right side, but in front of the plate. At best, her heal would have been in the river.

    Because it takes too much time. Once you've done the BB's, what next - re-chalk the circle and foul lines? Maybe drag the infield for a 5th inning stretch? And really, none of it matters. When the batter steps in front of the plate or on the plate, the call is simple. No lines needed.

    No - she called it almost immediately. She's waving for dead ball before the outfielder gets to the ball. Oh, and it was good call: batter clearly steps in front of the plate which is out of the box.

    The ESPN contract is for pretty much all college sports, so I don't know that fastpitch is contributing a lot to the revenue stream currently. And I get what you're saying about CBS, but in 7 years who knows? Long view.
