Think the wife shot these in this order. Boy was it COLD that weekend, temp never made it close to 45 degrees. Softball in November in the Midwest..fun stuff!!
Getting sign from coach
Giving sign to pitcher
Showing the pitcher "throw it HERE!!"
We tried those gloves but they have a lot of stitching on the palms and too thick in places on the palm, one of my whole families pet peeves about bg's, also wrist strap is thick. But they are super tough and breath great.
Was trolling around Menards few months back and came across these work gloves. So I tried them playing ball. They felt really good. Lightweight, durable and breath nice. I've used them for few months, and love them. So I have 4 pairs now. $5.00 a piece....hell yes!!
So the kiddo came up to me...
I am just picky about colors, don't care about brand. Her last set was all Rawlings, gray and I bought all of it separate.
Now its:
All Star - leg
Rawlings - chest
Schutt - helmet
This weekend USFA 16U Mizuno College Showcase
My now mix matched catcher...I cant bring myself to spend $$ on a helmet when hers is less than a year old. Chest and legs protectors less than $45 total and both NIW. It kills me to see her not match.
First, as few said before, get her feet out wider.
Second, to help with speed getting glove/ball to hand. Move her hand to the side of her leg. If her legs are little wider apart, it will help shielding her hand from the ball.
Third, a big one, extend her glove out farther when she is making...
kinda sad she wont be wearing her old gray Rawlings gear any more. Over 4 years aint bad for same gear but she grew too much and her new team is navy/gold.
pitch a foot in the wrong direction, even the ump closed his eyes
I love the eyes on this one...and can someone guess how many outs there are? I give props cuz at least she knows how many out there are..
My DD moved up to 16U, but left her team, very good B team. We planned on trying out for 5 to 6 teams. 3 A teams and a couple of B's. She first had 2 private tryouts for A teams. First team, maybe a quick 15 min tryout, she was offered a spot on the roster. But she said we wanted to keep her...
My DD loves her Super Soft Miken. No real break in time. She is 14 and has 12.5. Her is going on 2 years with no issues. I just jinxed myself, didnt I?
My DD loves her 34" Zuno. Has used 3 or 4 diff types of gloves but says the Zuno's pocket feels like a net. Her is busted up, zip tied up and glued together....so we going to give Nokona a try next year.
thx!
She is a catcher is biggest reason why her uni is dirty but she dives and flops around behind the plate like she a mad disturbed teenager lol. CHild has no fear of getting dirty, she loves it. Also I think it was game #4 that day.
Huge suggestion to all coaches....NO WHITE PANTS!!!!
poor lil guy had rough tourney this past weekend. Other lil boys wouldnt play with him much, 1 kid is a lil **** and makes the other boys ignore my lil guy. Poor kiddo never left our side on Sun. We reward him with a new Hot Wheel if he is good at tourneys. I am picking him up a special toy...
Oh I was jumping up and down, screaming, with arms in the air while making a bee line toward the ball. I totally missed her "Kurt Gibson" fist pump as she rounded 2nd...in homage to Coach Kent.
WALK-OFF GRANDSLAM!!!!!
HOLY CRAPPERS!!!
I should type this whole post in CAPS cuz my head is still swollen and it was my DD that hit it, not me.
The DD FINALLY got the "No HR" monkey off her back. First game of bracket play on Sat night. Her team is up 7-1, bottom of the 5th, no outs and...
