My DD switchted pitching coaches and had her first lesson this week. We now goto Chelsea Thomas. I wasnt sure what to expect, but was willing to give it a shot.
I was impressed how well she worked with the girls and was happy to have a PC here in St Louis that teaches an open style with NO...
We will be holding tryouts at:
Chesterfield Athletic Association
Aug 10th 10-Noon
Field D3
*Due to time constraints, pitchers and catchers will have an extra separate mini tryout immediately following the outdoor tryout. The location will be at Balls N Strikes in Chesterfield. It's right across...
We have ran across this a few times. I believe a guest player should be used due to injury or lack of players that can attend. They should be placed in the position that is missing as to not affect any of the players who are able to attend.
I really hate when a team has to use the ace P of...
Thanks Ken
We will definitely start working on fixing the whip next practice. The walking through the pitch is something that just recently started, hopefully it can be weeded out pretty easily.

This weekend we played in a small two day tournament with 10U DD. We won both of our pool games on the first day and got seeded 2. Day two is bracket play and we play the 5th seed. Our coach starts a girl who has never pitched in a live game before. We lost.
That really bugs me. Why not do...
My daughter started last season with a 454, by the end of the season was using a cf5. It's probably different for everyone, but DD had better results with the cf5 and said it didn't sting her hands as with her 454.
During tryouts this year I spoke to roughly 10 teams in the St Louis area. They all were pretty much around $300 - $500 after fundraising. Last year 12u was $1250 but only paid about $400 out of pocket. That covered 4 uniforms, bags, indoor facility, weekly reserved batting cages, 2 leagues...

Heres video I took last night. DD is still "stepping". I talked to PC, he says her mechanics isnt what hes worried about, its her slow arm circle.
On another note, I talked to another PC that I learned about from a user...
She's not supposed to be a step style pitcher. PC ( not the guy in vid ) is always working on getting her to open up. I have been watching a lot of videos so I can get a better understanding of all the comments.
Should I be second guessing her PC? My DD likes going to him because he taught...
Thanks for all the comments.
The man in the video is one of her team coaches.
I will definatly keep reading here and working hard on improving. Hopefully down the road I can post an after video.
I appreciate everyones advice.
Thank you.
The glove thing is something she just started doing on her own within the last month or so, dont know where it came from. As far as getting open, that is what I have been trying to work on the last couple of months. Whenever I do get her to start opening up, the next time we...
At practice 12/16/2011
I shot this with my phone during practice, so might not be good enough quality.
We have been practicing a lot lately, but I dont know enough to point out any little things that could help her. I mainly have repeat anything PC had her doing at that weeks lesson.
What...
