This is it exactly.Look at their committed players , where are the going? Are those schools or conferences your dd is interested in? As a junior There is still money out there for 25s at the D1 level but it’s going quickly especially at the power 5 level so I would say if she’s not got a lot of interest going from schools she’s interested in switching to a higher level team would be a good idea.

DD's team practiced T, W, Th-4:30-7:30 in the heat of the summer. And weekends when they weren't playing. DD still has PTSD! She said college practices were a walk in the park. There are no practices. Most people have started school ball or will very soon. When that ends, it's right to the summer tournament schedule.
These top team coaches know how to manage a roster. If you are one of these, players will be plug and play. Otherwise, there would be lots of turnover and that would hurt their reputation. Also, having a large roster is a must when making deep runs in hot summer tourneys.Maybe someone has mentioned it, but one of my main questions for an elite team would be how many players they carry. Some of these teams carry 18-20 players and playing time can be very disappointing for all but the top few players.
