Get your DD into a program for weights and conditioning as soon as possible to get a leg up on the competition.

When dd was 15 this was part of practice. Appr 2 hour practice and 30 min of conditioning and/or weights 3 times a week, up to 5 during preseason Dec to

After team split she played with team that was out of state, it was then her responsibility to stay on top of those things. But for players to be local it lies more on the coach than players IMO. Most kids and/or parents have know idea where to start(coaches for that matter). But a coach worth their salt would get the ball rolling and be able to give reasons as to why their programs are relevant and productive to the kids.
