How do you conduct your tryouts

Year 3 as HC and planning a 12U TB tryout

Any of you experts want to give me a rundown of your tryouts
do you talk to players/parents together or separate?

How many days of tryouts do you hold?

would love to hear what all of you do ...

We normally have parents fill out information on the girls.

We also give out expectations of the team, expectations for the parents and players. Cost for uniforms, monthly fees, buy in etc.

Throwing, around the horn, etc

As for the actual tryout, we break them up, infield work, grounders, bucket drills,etc. Fielding from every position and throwing to every base.

Then outfield drills, have them rotate everything positron throwing to all the bases.

Hitting, maybe "T" work, then live spot toss (we are 10U so consistent pitching is hard) but for 12U you can throw your pitchers at the batters (2 for 1).

9:30-9:45 Registration and warmup and Intro
9:45-9:55 Stretching and running
9:55-10:00 5-minutes to change gears
10:00-10:20
Infield Drills: Infield Bucket Drills, Star Drills, Small Infield
Outfield: Ball to all fields, two lines calling pop flies, two-ball drill

10:20-10:35 Timed Running
10:35-10:40 Change Fields 5-minutes to change gears
10:40-11:00 Rotate infield/outfield (See 10:00)
11:00-11:30 Hitting and hitting drills then Shagging Group 1 Pitchers and Catchers hit first
11:30-12:00 Shagging then Hitting and hitting drills Group 2 Pitchers and Catchers hit first
