Haven't posted in a while, but I'm still lurking around.
Well, I got myself volunteered to coach a 14u team this year for a local organization. DD plays on the 18u team. I took the team because I help coach our Jr High team and we have 5 kids that are above average and needed a team. I haven't coached travel ball in a couple years. I'm an assistant with our HS team also but have been chomping at the bit to head coach again.
Since most of our team has been playing school ball for the last couple months I decided to give them a break on Sundays and haven't practiced since tryouts. We're a local B team so there won't be any push for Nationals or anything like that so I figured the girls needed a break, as well as myself.
We begin play the 16th and I had planned on our first practice being this Sunday, mainly to get the girls familiar with each other and start building team chemistry. Unfortunately, in typical Southern Illinois fashion, it began raining a couple days ago and looks to continue through Saturday. So I am fishing for alternative practice ideas. I'm hoping to use a church gym Sunday, but end up in our HS weight room.
So I am looking for alternative ideas for practice. I've been around long enough to know the general status quo stuff but I'm looking for ideas that will be fun and promote team chemistry.
Thanks in advance.
