I have Steve coming out from Houston to workout with my girls fastpitch team the weekend of January 23-25. On Friday evening, he will be conducting a hitting seminar open to general public. Details below.

STEVE ENGLISHBEY “Elite Level Swing Mechanics” HITTING SEMINAR
Friday, January 23, 7:00 - 8:30 pm
Independent Elementary School, Multipurpose Room, 21201 Independent School Road, Castro Valley, CA

Nationally renowned hitting instructor Steve Englishbey will be in the Bay Area to share his knowledge about how to efficiently swing a bat like the best in the world. This is a must for anyone who truly wants to understand the key components to an elite level swing. There are many coaches who believe Steve is second to none when it comes to understanding and communicating elite level swing mechanics.

This seminar is designed for coaches, parents and players so that they can better understand how the Elite swing works. Steve will give invaluable insight into the kinds of movement, patterns and muscle actions that are involved in creating an Elite Level Swing.
• Understand the fundamental geometry that is an essential component of an Elite Level Swing
• How elite level hitters align bat and body in an effective manner
• How and why rotational momentum of the trunk is vital to creating an Elite Level Swing
• How the "3 Rotations" -- hips, shoulders, wrist -- are coordinated in an Elite Level Swing

Most hitting instruction, hitting analysis, hitting drills and hitting tips for baseball and fastpitch are based on cues and drills. Often these cues ARE NOT reflective of what is actually happening when elite level hitters swing the bat. This lack of reality and clarity almost inevitably leads to instruction that DOES NOT effectively address the flaws that underlie most non-elite level swing mechanics. Englishbey hitting is based on developing a thorough understanding of swing mechanics and applying effective methods to emulate the Elite Level swing so you can confidently instruct your players.

About Steve Englishbey
Steve himself was an elite athlete, having been selected in the first round of the 1972 Major League draft by the Houston Astros (9th pick in the 1st round). Steve has a unique capability to combine professional level playing experience with a high degree of sports science knowledge which makes him the ideal instructor of the Elite Swing.
He has trained athletes for over 30 years and has a deep intellectual interest in sports science theory and application including biomechanics, functional anatomy, sports psychology, motor learning and control.

Steve has spent thousands of hours:
• Studying video of elite baseball and softball hitters.
• Teaching the Elite swing to instructors and hitters of all ages and skill levels.
• Swinging the bat himself, honing the concepts and practice methods to his own swing so he can apply it to his students. It is rare to find a hitting instructor who has this kind of experience and capability to "do it", "understand it", and "teach it."
