She was only 18 YOs.

I don't post all of these articles that I run across, but I am on so many sites through FB and Twitter that I read something just awful everyday. Currently, I am reading about 2 apparently healthy college softball players that were suddenly diagnosed with a particularly deadly kind of leukemia.

The teams hold fundraisers for the families and usually a website picks up on it.

I can't imagine having one of my children, pass away at such a young age.

She is from my area and played at our neighborhood high school. What makes it more sad for me is that I thought she had "beat" her illness. Here is a story the Washington Post ran about her coming back from illness:

Oh, that is terrible. I hope that the family has good insurance. One of the girls with leukemia, does not.

Thanks for the link to the article. An 18 YO dying of "natural causes" didn't make any sense. I can't imagine the loss her family must be feeling.
