Interesting, but I think it’ll just end up one more thing to carry. Hard to turn down the dual functionality of a padded, comfortable bucket lid and a bucket full of balls.

I use a 3 gallon bucket to catch my DD's bullpen. It holds a few pitching balls and my mitt so is the right height. You can get them at any hardware store. I sit side saddle to avoid any unfortunate bounces. Most coaches I know don't want to sit that low. My DD'S coaches have came to the conclusion it is beat to have one of the catchers warm her up.
