Interference - steal?

This actually happened at my son's baseball game (nfhs). 1 out, runners on first and second. Catchers throws to 2nd, F4 fields the throw, gets the tag down and the runner slides headfirst over the glove, ball comes out under the runner. Runner stays laying on the ball and F4s glove preventing a throw home. R1 scores, ump calls safe.

Just curious, couldn't find a specific interpretation for that situation.

I figured, at the end of the day it didn't impact the outcome of the game, unlike the 5 errors that lead to 8 unearned runs.
