Ok in States we were down 6 and were coming back. Girl a hit it to right field and they threw home. The girl coming home was safe and the batter ran to second when she saw the throw head that way. She was behind the second baseman when the catcher picked up the ball and threw to the pitcher. There is no get the ball back to the pitcher in the circle rule. At least we've never played that way nor can i find it in rule book. The other coach came out and went to the ump and next thing you know the runner goes back to first. She ended up making it to third and then they got out of the inning (which in my mind cost us a run- she'd have scored). We lost in extra innings. Can anyone clarify this for me. I went to our coach and asked him to protest it but he said 'No, the umps told everyone before the game that they will enforce this'. Whatever that means. How do you enforce a rule that doesnt exist.
Here is the traditional and xplay rules (we are xplay and the traditional rules apply with the exceptions explained)
