There's been some press on this locally... The following was in a WALB news article... Rule 9-1-2 of the 2017 National Federation of State High School Associations baseball rulebook states "when the winning run is scored in the last half inning of a regulation game...as the result of a base on balls, hit batter, or any other play with the bases loaded which forces a runner on third base to advance, the umpire shall not declare the game over until all runners have advanced to the next base."

The Georgia HSA upheld the "out" ruling of the umpires, and now the school has appealed to the board of trustees. The hearing is Monday. A couple of coaches locally say they won't win the appeal. We will see...

On another forum the same game was discussed and apparently there is a case play that covers the exact situation. It's a lost cause continuing to protest when there is a specific case play.

Thanks. I tried every combination for posting that link and it just doesn't seem to want to work for me. :(

Edited to add: Your link worked for me! Strange...

Sounds like some real idiots filing a protest quoting rules from a completely different rule set. And if the comments under the article are correct complete bs for the crew to be pulled from further post season games for making the correct call.
