After a full college season, most girls want/need a break. I truly believe players need a break to improve and for college softball players, summer is the best time for that break.
Not often. My DD was happy when it was over. No more playing and practicing in 100 heat.
I see it happen often. Just needs to be on the right team that doesn't view her to be taking time from their players who are still being recruited.
My DD's last travel team had a player guest play twice in the summer after the player had finished her freshman season. She didn't play much as a freshman and was looking for reps, so her former club team was helping her out.

Triple Crown does not and I believe USA PREPS and PGF don't because the "focus" is on girls not in college yet and recruitment.
Yep. I know a bunch of college freshmen that pretty much didn’t play an inning. From P5 to small D3’s. In fact, most off the 2020’s I know didn’t play.For some college freshman, it might be the most playing time they get all year.
