Catcher's Helmets

16U DD needs a new catcher's helmet. I know there's a lot out there - safety, comfort, and cost are more important than the name brand so its wide open.

Interested in your thoughts/experience with what's good (or bad), why, and the best sources of catchers gear. Also, are there any new helmet certifications/requirements pending?

IME all catchers helmets are safe. They all carry a NOSCAE sticker indicating that they pass safety standards.

The biggest differntiator I've seen is that the upper end helmets are significantly lighter than the lower end helmets. There is some variance in vision from mask to mask as well and obviously fit and comfort are big factors.
