don't know if it was because I played myself for sooooo long, but I never experienced nervousness when one of my kids pitched. I enjoyed it.

You enjoyed it because you spent the time with your DD and had the confidence in her abilities in the circle. It makes it much easier to be calm when you're confident.

The reason some of us parents are so crazy, is the personal feelings that are involved. At my job, I would never think of acting stupid in the public eye. If one of my employees messes up, I discuss it with them privately. Praise in public, coach in private. It is just so much harder when it is your DD. Hopefully we are all learning how to be better "Pitchers Dads". Coached for years before my DD was even born. It is just different when she plays.
