Australia makes the Olympic field!!!

Sad to see China and Chinese Taipai not have the chance. Both deserving of the opportunity. But rather them than the team I support.

6 teams really does seem like a rather skinny field, could easily have blown it out to 8 or 10 teams and still had legitimate entries. Puerto Rico and China obvious other choices.

Philippines have been dominating little league softball the last few years so good to see then yo starting to show in the national scene. The more competitive teams internationally the better the argument becomes for Olympics beyond 2024 where I expect the usa to get the sport back on the schedule.

I was stunned at the Phillipines. I hadn’t realised they’d been smashing it at Little League so it’s good to see. They got in over NZ who everyone expected to be there. The good thing as well is that most of their players were home grown. The different countries qualifying doesn’t mean as much if they’re full of Americans.
