Doctor used her hamstring to secure the kneecap and also cut some shin bone for alignment purposes. Typical recovery time is 6-8 months. The surgery was last December, so we just passed the 3 month point. She's doing great in physical therapy. We are not wanting to rush back as worst case scenario is some sort of setback. At the same time, she is getting really antsy about not being on the field (in Oklahoma school ball is slowpitch in spring, and her competitive team is playing a few tourneys on the weekends). She's a pitcher and can do whatever she basically wants to upper body wise. So we are playing catch and she's working out with bands and upper body exercises. Any wisdom with past experience or insight on keeping her engaged would be greatly appreciated.
