How does Mizuno really compare to the big names? The market is dominated by demarini and Louisville. My DD has a rawlings that was really nice at first but now it's a different story. At least to me it is. Anyone have compression results on these bats?I know that is not that is not the end all but it's a great start lol.

I think the Nighthawk is pretty similar to the demarini's. They are not bad bats at least the 2016 and newer versions. Maybe 2015.

My daughter swings a 2017 -11 33/22 Mizuno Nighthawk...and loves it. Very well balanced bat. It definitely doesn't have the sound of a Xeno or LXT, but the ball seems to fly off of it. Had the chance to do ball exit speeds tests on it vs a 2017 CF9 -11 33/22 and they were identical (using a pocket radar).

If you have a chance, check out OC Batbusters Stith 18U. They put on hitting clinics and they have to swing Mizuno bats.

Not any more. At the start of 2017, OCBB changed their equipment sponsor to Wilson. My friends with catcher-DDs who play for OCBB teams weren't too happy about being required to buy all new gear.

Its gonna be tough. They took themselves out of the bat market years ago by their strategy and not keeping up. They really are going to have
to change a lot and also change perception of their product. Mizuno was the bottom of the barrel bat you bought if you wanted a beater
or didn't want to spend much money. You not only have to build image/product back up, but hopes the value goes up as well.
The problem for Mizuno and even Easton slowpitch right now it value. Hard to sell bats for any kind or price when people know a couple
months after release people will be ditching stuff for half price just to sell it. So many people just waited a short time.

Lots of things to change for Mizuno, but getting a couple colleges on your bat line is a good start

/\ This.

However, they have been greatly successful with their line of products on the "D" side of the ball. ;)

But Im sure the Org or someone got free stuff out of the deal...nobody ever cares about what the parents/kids have to spend to "comply"

Which is why we've never accepted an offer to join them - unless a team is giving the required gear to use, it's no sponsorship.

But I digress - Stith's teams will put on a hitting clinic no matter what brand they "endorse." It's the hitter, not the bat.

My DD had strong interest from an OCBB team in September. The equipment requirement was a factor in her decision. She loves Demarini bats, but really doesn't like Wilson gloves/mitts. The new Wilson catching gear isn't very good, either. My bank account was in favor of her opinion.

Agree 100% that a good hitter will hit well no matter what stick they swing.

Mizzou did not swing any Mizuno bats tonight, they had been all season. Mostly LS, one ghost.
