Last night my sophomore DD went yard for the fifth time this HS season. Rumor has it that she is leading the conference in HRs but haven't seen that in writing. Her hours of tee work, dedication and effort is paying off. Sorry to brag but I am just so proud I can hardly stand it! :D

Congrats to her! I like using this phrase for my DD....Hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work hard.

Absolutely! She works her guts out and sacrifices so much. I didn't have 1/100 of her drive at her age.

Have you checked MaxPreps yet? Some schools and conferences upload their stats there: Idaho High School Softball - MaxPreps Keep in mind, the stats are only as reliable as the person who uploads them. I've discovered that stat-padding is rampant in my older DD's league.

At least you have stats to look at. DD's HS coach won't post anything at MaxPreps...seems to think that none of the other HS coaches will be able to find out who the "good" players are if she doesn't post anything...guards the info likes it's the nuclear football

In most states athletic stats are subject to a FOIA request. But like MaxPreps it is probably home cooked.

I'm one of "those" dads. I do my own scorekeeping for her games. My AC for my younger DD's team has 2 daughters playing with my older DD and 1 daughter with my younger DD, so he and I geek out over the stats for all 5 of them.

I knew something was up when DD's stats on MaxPreps were better than the stats I had. Then we played a team recently that is dominating the rankings in BA, SLG, OBS, OPS, etc., yet they are in last place. Had a chance to compare what I had for the game to what they had, and they credited themselves with 4 more hits than what I had, including one inning-ending double play that somehow got turned into a hit.
