    Never ending tryouts?

Alot the problem is daddy ball. You have a dad who has a kid that always plays SS, 2nd, etc. no matter what. Then they go out and try to find pitching. Good luck. Most good pitchers know that scenario well by the time they are 16u or even 14u and steer clear. Your better pitchers don't want to...

    Never ending tryouts?

Seems like there is a huge pitching shortage everywhere. There are very few A/Gold level pitchers. And not an abundance of lower level pitching. In my area there are so many teams the dilution of talent is horrible. A lot of guys that want to coach, a lot of egos, and a lot of daddy ball...

    PGF vs. ASA

I am not surprised Minnesota was there. Their new coach was at Iowa State before so I am sure she had been following several teams present at ASA Nats. Minnesota was at PGF Premeir also.

    PGF vs. ASA

We played PGF 14 last week. We had anywhere from 10-25 D1coaches at every game. Mostly head coaches. Every P5 school was present. I am curious what recruiting presence was at ASA 14 Nationals?

Explain the difference in all the CO. Tournaments. IDT, Sparkler, Firecracker.

We played the IDT as well. Great competition and plenty of coaches watching. It was somewhat expensive but even after my kid is committed we hope to go every year for three reasons. 1. For the competition, if you want to be the best you have to play the best. 2. To help kids that are not...

OK, what's with this Showcase Scenario?

We played Boulder IDT this week. Coaches everywhere for the pool games. Played 4 bracket games on Sat and only saw 4-5 coaches all day. That is a very competitive tourney and the coaches drastically tapered off. I am with the theory that the bracket is more for the TB coaches/ teams, than the...

    College Camp Question

The more contact your daughter has with the staff the better off she will be . If it is a top list college for your DD I would go an extra day since you are already at campus. I would communicate to the coach through your TB coach and find out what days of the camp they would like your daughter at.

Tulsa pitcher hit in head by line drive

1.Make the ball bright yellow with red seams so hitters can see the spin. 2. Use $300 bat to hit $8 ball. 3. Squeeze down the strike zone and not give the edges. Surprised it doesn't happen more often.

    No unofficial visits after August?

My daughter is fortunate enough to receive several invites for unofficial visits. She is not in a hurry to commit and has a handful of schools she wants to visit. We heard this week that after August coaches will no be allowed to participate in unofficial visits/campus tours. Coaches will only...

How many pitches should a fastpitch pitcher have?

Drop, change, riseball. Something up. Something down. Mix speeds. If you can master all 3 that is all you need to be an All American.

    Advantages of Big Name Organization???

If your daughter commits to a D1 school and her current club plays local/ regional tourneys it is very likely they would recommend she change teams. They want her playing against national level teams and practicing with kids of the same caliber. If she is wanting to prepare herself for success...

Likelihood of getting recruited by Major D1?

I see your point, but with the exception of a few like ULL or Hofstra, teams with a legit shot at the WCWS are from the power 5. So they are more competitive from a softball perspective, as well as football.

    Advantages of Big Name Organization???

We just went through this with my Ddd. Last year she played played on arguably the best 14u team in the state. They were not a nationally known name and the coaches did not have any contacts. The mentality was keep winning and the college coaches would show up. The team Dom inated regionally...

    Recruiting Question

This is a very timely topic for my 13yo DD. She is in the same situation but she is a pitcher. She has been asked to attend some camps also. She has already been to a couple this fall that are on her list but not top 10. I am glad she went because now she is more comfortable going into some...

    Shoeless Joe

I saw a booth selling/demo this weekend in KC. My daughter really liked the gloves. I had never heard of them. Does anyone else have one or know how we'll they last? Kinda pricey but looked/felt good...old schoolish.

    USSSA age eligibility

It is totally social. This is just to have fun. She plays strictly competitive 12u normally.
