Pitches like she's bowling. Help please.
If she is dipping her chin my guess is she is dipping her shoulder as well, my DD's PC corrected this problem by having her do arm swings (pitching motion) as fast as she can while standing next to a wall or fence. It took about a week and it corrected the problem!- CindyW109

Moving up from 10u to 12u
IMO it would benefit her more to keep her down. There is a huge difference between 10's and 12's and she would benefit from more playing time in 10's.- CindyW109

I completely agree, every step taken on the field is watched and players are moved around when necessary. I don't disagree with that philosophy; but she rarely gets to pitch in games, or to batters for that matter. I think I will have to brave it out and start standing as batter during her...- CindyW109

Thank you, I appreciate your opinions. After watching her tonight she is slowing down to aim the pitch, now that we know that we can work to correct that as well as her self confidence. When we started on this team, she was supposed to be the 2nd string pitcher, and utilized in the infield...- CindyW109

Running a tryout
In my experience teams usually hold 2 tryouts, the first is more of an all skills tryout (including hitting) and the second is position specific. Only the players that are invited back tryout for specific positions.- CindyW109

Pitching / Coach doesnt have confidence in dd
DD has been pitching for over a year, (11) and did very well in Rec ball, moved to TB and hired a private pitching coach who has helped with her mechanics and speed.
