Hitting the high pitch - Suggestions?
I am an Epstein Instructor. We teach a slight (maybe 3 degrees) up swing in softball- ie the plane of the swing is slightly "up" to match the flight of the pitch (non riseballs- I'll get to this in a minute) as it crosses the plate. Ask any good college pitcher-- maybe one or two riseballs per...- fpitch57

Help with swing mechanics
As an Epstein guy what I see is that the bat doesnt get on plane with the pitch early enough. At 5 seconds you can stop the video and see that the know is pointing down. Att his point it should be pointing towards the pitcher. Her hands are dropping (hands should stay above the ball). her swing...- fpitch57

palms
Palm up/palm down as early as possible and for as long as possible. Put the pie in the oven with that right hand. this is what MLB players do.- fpitch57

Seeing more and more hitters set up like this
Nothing matters until heel plant. Everything befoer heel plant is simple "style". IF you watch video of the best hitters, they pretty much look the same after heel plant when everything is slotted.- fpitch57

The hands - How high is too high?

How to fix collapsing back leg

Front arm locked at contract ...
Front arm should not be locked at contact. It should be bent and away from the chest so as to allow extension "after contact"- fpitch57

Bat Wrap,Trap & Drag II
good swing- stacked well. just needs to keep palm up/palm down longer and more extension. This is a pretty good rotational swing. Right palm should not be "to pitcher" it should be "up" for as long a possible.- fpitch57

#1 aspect of hitting not being taught
Working on the lower half. Every instructor I see focuses on the shoulders, the arms, the hands, and during all the tee work and practice swings I see bug squishing and hips that dont move. How to stop a hiiter from lunging at the ball?
The hitter in the video has a bad swing - Lower half is practically non-existent, extension is waaaay too early, major bug squishing, no angle of the back knee etc etc. -- about all he does decently is demonstrate lunging. I think the girls absolutely need to be shown and taught correct mechanics. yes- slow pitch is completely different, but there is a definite dichotomy out there between linear and rotational philosophies when it comes to fastpitch.
