I didn't call you anything. Certainly would not tell people you are a liar. Formed a perspective from the way you were making comments in your post I didn't take it seriously. Seemed like you were using words as a figure of speech not that you are actually hanging out hitting off a machine all...
To get back to your conundrum.
The point is the title.
No that wasn't the implication.
It was just a video of some swings that started producing better contact.
Not really believing you could hit a 70 mph jugs machine set at Fastpitch distances all day long. But if you could you would be that...
Sure people are talking about different methods of sending pitches to batters that have different visual cues. But whether it comes out of a hand or a machine there is still timing.
( interesting too that some batters do better off machines than they do live pitching and vice versa)
Don't think...
One of the reasons like tossing from the side is that can throw the pitch deeper or further out front. Including high low quicker or softer. Can force a specific pitch location to hit.
(like putting a tee deeper or further out front)
Also use it because there's not always space or...
That is only pending the type of mechanics that someone is choosing. Not all mechanics are as fast as others.
+ visual reaction!
That is why it's important to recognize that when people are constantly looking to change mechanics they are also changing the timing within those mechanics that is...
It is not often that I comment in hitting discussions. But because I see so many people talking about swing mechanics,
over and over and over talking about mechanics
change this mechanic
fix that mechanic
do this with your mechanics
do that with your mechanics....
( okay great Define...
Appears you are saying the exact same thing
'A matter of learning when to swing' and some people would also say it
' learning when to start the swing'
= Timing
As @Cornbread commented
most critical element of hitting!
With either there has to be timing within the swing.
As you mentioned hitting 70 mph in a cage
that training would still be useful/ needed to create timing for it.
~a beautiful swing without timing is only a beautiful swing.
Consistency helps create consistency will agree with that. Sooo practicing with 70 mph consistent speeds would create consistent timing at that speed.
Inconsistent pitching helps develop making adjustments.
As far as consistency of pitching machines
....Mehhh many pitching machines do not...
Being that tons and tons of hitting training is done with pitching machines...
Prompts me to ask,
Why would you @LE be able to hit 70 mph
off a pitching machine
but not hit off a live pitcher?
Timing is Timing.
Definitely there are different cues to look for when timing a pitching machine...
Have seen fields that who is actually responsible for them seems to get tossed back and forth.
On the few occasions I repaired the field myself people were appreciative of it.
Beyond that anybody that wants to challenge my Heart and Grit on the softball field is welcome to try.
😁😏😉
I have gone out on to Fields with my own shovel and jug of water to fill in outrageous problems and pack the dirt down firmer. One time the people that were running the tournament came out and asked me who told me to do that. And I said no one should have to tell you to do it you should be able...
