There is a time limit to keep the pace of the game going in NFHS. As an Umpire I see no reason to throw the ball around the horn, it serves no purpose, although I see comments that is keeps the players in the game. Umps calling strikes above batter's head
Get with the Umpires and explain your concerns. Those player's age and height make it tough to get low enough to call a knees to letters zone. Also, at that age and skill level, the pitchers are usually not able to hit a strike zone. Sounds cruel, but both coaches and umpire need to have some...- Tito
