10U Daughter: $800 which includes Fall and Spring
Unis, bat bag, helmet, lots of extras, use of indoor facility w/ batting cages, access to great coaches and clinics , 10 to 12 tournaments in Spring, a couple throughout the fall in addition to regular fall ball. Lots of traveling, but worth it...
After writing a post and then deleting it lol, here goes, in a shorter, more simplified version :D
How did you help your daughter decide which team to choose after tryouts?
Again, we are having issues deciding!
I know this is an older post, but wanted to put in my 2 cents.
Often times, if tryouts are held before Nationals, coaches will not be announced. There are many reasons for this, but one being, the "new" coaches current team that s/he is going to Nationals with. It goes both ways, when...
DD is moving up to 12U this coming season. My DD is having a hard time deciding what to do as far as tryouts are concerned. She is unsure of if she should stay with her current team, or find a new one.
I have tried to find the pros and cons and still am unsure.
Pros: Very good "A" team - Going...
Everything I am hearing is basically how I feel about the situation as well.
During pool play the playing time was very limited. Maybe 1 or 2 innings in outfield, or being flex batter (during the 3 games)..... but during bracket play, played a couple innings of the first game, and sat the next...
Here is some more information -
Not late to practices, attends everyone (unless sick), very polite child, never has shown disrespect towards any team mate, coach, ump, etc. The two different parents were told their child was sitting because statistically for the weekend was in the bottom two...
Just would like opinions on ---> is there such a thing as being benched "too much" on a 10U or 12U travel ball team?
Sitting for an entire day? (3 + games)
Opinions appreciated.
If the games are 2 hours or so away, we generally stay the night. For instance this past weekend we had a nighttime game on Sat, then a bright and early game on Sunday - It is hard to play 3 or 4 games on a Saturday, and then have to drive all the way home. But then again, it is not always...
Travel ball is something that is very demanding for sure - time wise. My DD is on a new team this year as well, her 3rd year playing travel ball. We not only commute 1 1/2 hours to multiple practices weekly, plus private lessons, but they are scheduled to play in 11 to 13 tournaments plus many...
Thanks lkgrge17! We settled with the new team! Being more competitive, and competing for positions, and having to work harder and become a better player all together is what is FUN to her. She is no stranger to hard work. It would be one thing if she was not as into it, but she lives and...

We recently had a head lice scare on the team.... Some of the girls were sharing catchers gear and a couple of them sharing batting helmets during practice. So even though my DD is fine I was cleaning her bag out and spraying just in case. I would hate to have to deal with it...
I also wanted to add something....
I thought my DD's coach from this past seasons team would be mad if we left as she is the only solid pitcher on the team.
I just knew he would come un-glued. I talked to him and he was happy for my DD and said if a child has such as opportunity to take it!
So...
I am not sure what the best option for you and your DD is but we've recently finished out reg season (10U) and decided to move to another team.
My DD was the #1 pitcher all year, very rarely did she NOT pitch an inning. With that being said we are moving up to a more competitive team. With the...
