    Agree that nutrition is important and often overlooked. We try to pack our own snacks in a cooler with food DD likes...meat, cheese, pickles etc. Eat at local, non-chain restaurants for lunch or dinner. Hotel breakfast varies, but try to get whole eggs/omelettes and avoid cereals, waffles...

    You are not banning trans men, you're protecting women athletes. Words matter...change the narrative. Agree with LEsoftballdad...NCAA needs to step up, as do many other organizations. Dawn Stanley missed an opportunity. What a *NAUGHTY NAUGHTY* joke this has become. Embarrassing.

    Cost of college and scholarships

    Is the FAFSA (or CSS) required even if you know you will not get need based aid or any federal money? Can you opt out of it? I assume it is school dependent, but figured I'd ask anyway.

    What do you think?

    DD pitches better in games too. Velo up and movement better. She is also better after the 2nd/3rd inning vs the 1st...probably more to do with understanding what the umpire is calling than being warmed up.

    Your bigger problem is going to be when the coach reverses his decision and starts hammering your DD to pitch again/more.

    The D1 vs anywhere else thing drives me crazy. I always assumed it was a parent ego thing. I watched 2 decent players stop playing softball last fall because they didn't get D1 offers. Literally turned down good scholarship offers from other division schools.

    IMHO it's the focus solely on velocity. DD plays high level 18U travel ball. See a ton of throwers, but not a ton of pitchers. Some of the best pitchers she has faced did not throw anywhere near as fast as other girls. For me that is when the game gets fun...good pitcher vs smart hitter...

    She's 7. Let her play BB and be the biggest proponent of that choice. But be realistic and show her how many women play BB at a high level. Sometimes the answer isn't "you can be anything you want to be"...the truth is you can't...and that is okay too. Kids should pick their own path, but...
