Apparently, there has been some confusion regarding prices. It is $80 for the two day coaches clinic (not $80 a day), and there are two separate pitching clinics (each is $60). You only need to pick one session. It’s not a two day pitching clinic.

The 18U Shamrocks are looking for an elite level catcher. If you are interested, we would be very happy to talk with you about joining our team. Please contact Jim Brackin at softballcoach@cox.net (or Ben Field at brfield5@verizon.net). You can view the Shamrocks website at Welcome to the...
She might be. If she's early in the process, then playing multiple sports may be okay. If she's committed, or close, then playing sports where her fingers might get jammed, broken, etc. might not be the smartest move she makes.
I don't think it was condescending, or at least that wasn't my intention. However, I am somewhat fluent in sarcasm.... I don't mind people discussing different aspects of pitching, but when you start drawing conclusions and making a prognosis about a specific pitcher without having actually...
I had no idea this was still being discussed. Funny stuff. All of the college coaches that wanted Tori to commit with them, including several in the top 10, must all be clueless. Maybe they should have checked with some of the "experts" on this thread first.... Good times :D
I'm not sure what game you were watching. The 2-1 loss came in ITB on Friday. She had 18 strikeouts in that game. Walks had nothing to do with the loss. The ITB runner came in on a misplayed push bunt. She came out in the last game against the Birmingham Vipers out of absolute fatigue, and...
There has been a lot written about her as a freshman/rising sophomore, which is easy to see by googling her name. In fact, her name will pop up before you finish typing. Some of these articles discuss why she's had success as a pitcher. What's more interesting is that she's really only been...
There were a ton of people gunning and taking video of Tori at ASA Nationals. The highest I heard this week was 68, but she was consistent in the 65-67 range. This was expressed through college coaches who were there, and is consistent with what she's been doing for a while now. She hit 60 as...
I agree with most of that. If you don't earn a berth, you shouldn't go in my opinion. But if ASA wants to give you a berth, and you think you have the horses, then who cares what I think? At ASA's you're going to face the best teams in the country in that age group and, if anything, it will...
The 14U national tournament with the best sample of top teams, players, and competition is ASA. It's not even close. Other sanctions put on nice national tournaments, but they're not the same. That's why there were so many D-1 coaches at the 14U tournament in Moline this year (among others...
Weighted balls are fine but obviously can cause injury if not used right. My 15 year old daughter has been using the for 4 years, and the back one for at least 2 1/2 years. Long toss, rapid fire drills, and walk throughs are very effective (long toss is key). AZ Amy is right about the 14"...
A pitcher has to have the skill to be a pitcher in the first place. Not everyone can do it (whether genetics or otherwise). Then she has to have the drive and work ethic to hone and maintain that skill. There is a great deal of sacrifice involved for the pitcher and her parents. Potential...
In addition to what sluggers says above, she needs to incorporate a "spinner", which is a plastic disc (about $25). Her pitching coach should know about it, but it comes with instructions if he/she doesn't. The goal is to become comfortable with spinning the object with various positioning of...
I don't get the purpose of this kind of drill other than learning to recognize a fastball out of the hand. So what? The only ones who benefit from live pitching under the circumstances described here are the batters - and that's a minimal benefit. How does the pitcher benefit at all from...
